Golf rules & regulations

General rules

* All competitions will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf, except as modified by Local Rules (which are posted in the Golf Shop) set forth by the Golf Committee.

* No starting time will be assigned, however all members and their guests are required to register in the golf shop before playing.

* Members may bring only one guest to play golf on weekends or holidays. Any exception to this policy must be pre-approved by the golf professional.

* Single players and twosomes will not be permitted to tee off before 3 PM on Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays unless approved by the golf shop.

* Players starting on any holes other than #1 must obtain permission from the Golf Shop.

Junior golf

* Every day of the week, all juniors under 13 years of age will not be permitted to play unless accompanied by an adult with Golf Shop approval.

* Juniors 13 years of age or older may play unsupervised Monday through Thursday with Golf Shop approval.

* On Friday through Sunday & Holidays, no one under the age of eighteen (18) shall be able to tee off before noon, except in a tournament or an event with a scheduled starting time as set by the golf committee, or dependent members ages 16 and 17 who are accompanied by their respective parents.

* All golf carts and pull carts must stay at least 25 feet from the greens or outside areas marked so.

* All golf carts and pull carts when approaching white posts near the green shall immediately proceed to cart path on outside of such posts and continue on cart path until leaving the teeing ground of the next hole.

Driving range

* All golf balls hit are to be hit from designated areas only.

* A limit of two bags per member when range bags are used.

* Every LG&CC member is responsible for golf balls they hit off Club property and for any damage done to house windows or car windshields. Please take responsibility for your actions and notify the owner if this occurs. Your homeowner’s insurance may possibly cover this.

Here are some reminders of our policies and procedures on the LGCC course:

* All tournament players must have an established handicap prior to playing in any LG&CC event.

* All players, walking or riding, must register in the Golf Shop prior to teeing off.

* Pace of play will be monitored during the busy season. Slow play will not be tolerated-please keep up with the group in front of you.

* Safety regulations will not permit more than two (2) people to ride in a golf cart-this includes children.

* Proper attire must be worn at all times.

* All tournament sign-ups will be posted in the Golf Shop approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the event.

Posting of golf scores

* As stated in the USGA Handicap Manual, Section 5: A golfer shall post a score when he plays and 18 hole round, 13 or more holes, or consecutive 9 hole rounds. Every golfer shall be responsible for returning all his acceptable scores, as defined in Section 5 of the USGA Handicap Manual. All members are reminded to post all scores from club events, outside tournaments, and regular play.
